Hello Grillers!
Craving traditional Argentine sausages? Then you absolutely have to try this Argentine appetizer. Here's how easy our "Choripán with Scamorza and Chimichurri" is:
Ingredients (for 2 servings):
- 4 Chorizo Bratwurst
- 4 slices of Scamorza (smoked mozzarella)
- 2 bread rolls / baguettes
- 2 EL Chimichurri
Accesories:
To sear the chorizo in the best possible way, a fine grill grate is suitable. Ideally, it should be height-adjustable, as the buns require significantly less heat when toasting.
Time required:
30 min, consisting of 5 min preparation time and 25 min cooking time
Preparation:
- Cut the chorizo sausage lengthwise so that it can be opened up, but does not fall apart
- Grill the chorizo over medium heat
- Also halve the rolls and toast them cut side down so that they get as many roasted aromas as possible.
- Place the chorizo on the underside of the bread and top it with the Scarmorza, so that it can melt from the heat of the sausage and the embers.
- As soon as the Scarmorza has melted, remove the rolls with toppings from the grill and brush them with chimichurri.
These sausage rolls (Chorizo + Pan = Choripan) are a typical Argentine appetizer, served at the classic Asado and found as street food in almost every football stadium.
